Overview
This guide explains how to import the terrain and design files exported from PVX.AI into PVsyst. Both the terrain model (CSV) and rack layout (PVCollada) are loaded into PVsyst for simulation.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Import the terrain model
In PVsyst, use the Import function to select your terrain CSV file. The 3D surface model will be loaded.
2. Import the PVCollada file
Load the PVCollada file as a 3D object to place it on top of the terrain model.
3. Align coordinates
Reset the scroll values manually (X, Y, Z = 0). Rotate 180 degrees around the origin to position the racks correctly. Choose not to delete the current scene.
4. Verify the result
Confirm that racks are correctly positioned on the terrain. PVsyst will automatically distinguish between fixed racks and trackers.
Tips & Recommendations
- Coordinate alignment is the most critical step; always reset X, Y, Z values to zero.
- Tracker systems are exported as horizontal; adjust settings in PVsyst if needed.
- Verify rack positions in PVsyst’s 3D view after import.
