PVX.AI Updates – July 2026

July puts battery storage, shading analysis, and single line diagrams inside AutoCAD, imports PVcase designs as native PVX objects, and generates site roads with erosion control.

New

Battery storage design (BESS). A full BESS designer inside AutoCAD: an enclosure catalog, zone auto-placement with fire lanes, NFPA/IFC code-compliance checks with a report, PCS skids as placeable devices, battery cabling routed to parent devices, and BESS rows in the single line diagram, BoQ, and device overview.

In-AutoCAD shading analysis. Run shading analysis directly in the drawing, with results drawn as an overlay that lives with the design.

Single line diagrams. Generate a single line diagram from a completed electrical design.

PVcase design import. Import a PVcase project from Layout > Import. Fixed racks, trackers, and terrain-following trackers are rebuilt as native PVX objects you can keep designing with.

Road generation with erosion control. Generate site roads from your entrance points: terrain-aware routing on the graded surface, culvert sizing from design rainfall, mass haul accounting, and erosion-control structures with sized basins.

Site Assessment requests. Request a full site assessment straight from the ribbon (previously Yield Analysis).

3D Google Earth export. Export tilted panels, labels, roads, cables, and equipment for a 3D view of the site in Google Earth.

Piles procurement optimizer. A four-sheet live what-if workbook for pile procurement.

Trunk-bus and Y-harness cabling. Design trunk-bus and Y-harness eBOS with a vendor parts catalog.

3D terrain-draped cables. A drape toggle renders cables on the terrain with true 3D lengths and a burial profile.

Improved

Imperial units. A units picker in Settings goes live, with feet supported across placement, terrain, electrical, exports, and terrain-following trackers.

Terrain-following trackers. A constraint-satisfying settle solver, ground-clearance validation between piles, pile reveal range validation, rigid vs hinged motor mode, and violation previews in the settings window.

PVsyst pre-flight validation. String sizing is validated against PVsyst rules before a yield run is submitted.

Terrain import. Always georeferenced, with a live Bing Hybrid base map behind the site.

Adapt Objects. One click re-adapts a PV area’s racks to the terrain.

Exports. Earthwork quantities as CSV, and a clean-copy drawing export with terrain crop and resampling.

Fixed

  • PVCollada 2.0 exports now import cleanly into PVsyst.
  • Tracker DC power corrected and surface yield job failures resolved.
  • Auto-placed transformers are nudged off overlapping racks.
  • PVcase fixed racks land at the correct anchor and bearing.
  • Transformers are rated from their inverters: current-clipped capacity and per-transformer power factor.
  • Electrical generation performance overhauled for large sites.
