Earthworks Export and Clean-Copy Export

Overview

Two outputs cover the handover end of a project: the Earthworks CSV, which reports the grading result point by point, and the clean-copy export, which writes a shareable version of the drawing itself.

Prerequisites

For the Earthworks CSV, a completed grading or earthworks operation. If the site has not been graded there are no paired points to export.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Export the earthworks CSV

On the Export panel, open the Export dropdown and choose Earthworks (CSV).

2. Read the columns

The file pairs the pre-grading and post-grading surfaces point by point, with columns Northing, Easting, NGL (natural ground level), FGL (finished ground level) and Difference. Difference is FGL minus NGL, so a positive value is fill and a negative value is cut.

3. Write a clean copy of the drawing

Run the PVXAI_CLEANCOPY command. It writes a clean copy of the drawing for sharing: the PVX.AI design without the working clutter, with the terrain cropped to the site and resampled so the file is light enough to send.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Use the clean copy when a client or reviewer needs the drawing itself rather than an export format.
  • The Earthworks CSV sits alongside the other outputs on the same Export dropdown, including Terrain (CSV), BoQ (XLS) and Piles (XLS).
