Overview
PVX.AI runs as a plugin inside Autodesk AutoCAD. This guide covers which AutoCAD versions are supported, how to change the interface language, and how to work in metric or imperial units.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Check your AutoCAD version
PVX.AI supports AutoCAD 2021 through 2027. Versions 2021 to 2024 run it on .NET Framework 4.8, 2025 and 2026 on .NET 8, and 2027 on .NET 10. PVX.AI detects your installed version automatically and loads the correct build.
2. Set the interface language
PVX.AI is available in five languages. Go to Configurations, then Settings, then Application, and pick yours under Language. The change takes effect after you restart AutoCAD.
3. Choose metric or imperial units
The Units picker sits directly under the Language picker. Choose Metric for meters, square meters and cubic meters, or Imperial for feet, acres and cubic yards. The picker sets the default for new projects; existing drawings keep the units they already have.
4. Convert an existing project
Units are anchored to the drawing itself, so a project always carries its unit system with it. To convert one, use AutoCAD’s -DWGUNITS command and answer Yes when it asks to scale objects.

- Every PVX.AI dialog, tool and export, the Info Screen and the Bill of Quantities read and display in the drawing’s units.
- Module dimensions are always entered in millimeters, matching manufacturer datasheets.
- The PVsyst PVCollada export is always written in meters.
