Overview
PVX.AI is a professional solar power plant design plugin that runs on AutoCAD. This guide covers downloading and installing PVX.AI on your computer step by step. The installation takes a few minutes, and you can start designing right away.
Prerequisites
AutoCAD 2021 through 2027 must be installed on your computer, and you need a PVX.AI account. There is no license key to enter: your account is all you need.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Sign in to your account
Open your web browser, go to id.pvx.ai and sign in. Your account, licensing, downloads and updates are all handled here.
2. Download the installer
Open your downloads page and download the installer for the latest version of PVX.AI.
3. Close AutoCAD
The installer will not run while AutoCAD is open. If AutoCAD is still running, the installer prompts you to save your work and close it, then click Retry.
4. Run the installer
Open the downloaded installation file by double-clicking it and follow the on-screen steps. Each step of the setup wizard states plainly what it is doing.
5. Open AutoCAD and verify
Launch AutoCAD and confirm that the PVX.AI ribbon has loaded. The first time you run PVX.AI, the Welcome to PVX window appears so you can sign in on this machine.

- PVX.AI installs per machine, so one installation serves every user on the computer. If an older per-user installation is present, PVX.AI detects and cleans it up automatically on the next run.
- The installer registers the PVX.AI installation folder in AutoCAD’s trusted locations for you, so PVX.AI loads cleanly on first run.
- PVX.AI detects your installed AutoCAD version automatically and loads the correct build.
- Your antivirus software may display a warning during installation. PVX.AI is a trusted application; confirm the warning to proceed.
