PVX.AI Updates – April 2026

April focuses on polish and reliability: in-app help access, a cloud-based inverter and battery catalog, LAS 1.4 point cloud support, smarter layer management, and a refined installer experience. Under the hood, string mirroring and electrical query systems have been significantly improved.

New Features

  • In-app help and bug reporting
  • Access help articles and submit bug reports directly from within PVX.AI through the integrated support panel. No need to leave AutoCAD.
  • Inverter and battery catalog
  • Browse and select inverters and batteries from a cloud-based device catalog. Selections are cached locally for offline use.
  • LAS 1.4 point cloud support
  • Import LAS 1.4 point cloud files in addition to the existing 1.2 and 1.3 formats, covering a wider range of drone survey outputs.
  • Planar Tilt visualization
  • Improved 3D pile positioning with X-axis compression for more accurate terrain-following rack visualization and COLLADA export.
  • Layer filter groups
  • Quickly filter the AutoCAD Layer Properties Manager to show only PVX.AI layers, reducing clutter in complex drawings.

Improvements

  • Smarter layer management
  • Layers are now created on demand instead of all at once during startup, reducing initial layer list clutter and improving load times.
  • Improved installer
  • PVX.AI branded installer with safety checks (blocks installation when AutoCAD is running) and automated trusted path registration for seamless AutoCAD integration.
  • String mirroring refinements
  • Better polyline lead-out support and marker drawing in mirrored stringing operations, with proper handling of locked layers.
  • Inverter and device configuration
  • Enhanced inverter and stringing device selection workflow with catalog integration for more accurate electrical design.
  • Licensing compliance
  • Excel export and coordinate transform libraries upgraded to fully open-source alternatives for better compatibility and licensing clarity.
  • Optional update control
  • Optional updates now show on startup with a bypass option, so you can choose when to update without interrupting active projects.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed collision highlighting to render correctly during rack operations.
  • Resolved dialog z-order issues where windows could appear behind AutoCAD.
  • Fixed text label layer assignment to use parent feature layers.
  • Corrected E-W export regression and label compression scope.
  • Fixed tracker terrain tilt in PVsyst PVC export.
  • Resolved infinite error loop when ribbon is not yet initialized.
