Multi-Directional Terrain Analysis

Overview

PVX.AI can generate slope maps in multiple directions before creating the surface model. This feature lets you analyze north, south, east, and west slopes independently, enabling data-driven decisions for your layout design.

Prerequisites

This setting must be activated before the surface is generated. Any map data source (KML, drone, contour) should be loaded.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Enable directional slope maps

Go to PVX.AI Settings and activate Show Directional Slope Map. This must be done before surface generation.

2. Select the map model

Choose the map model you want to use: point-type, contour lines, or any other data source.

3. Select layers and generate the surface

After selecting the relevant layers, click Build. PVX.AI will create separate slope maps for north, south, east, and west directions.

4. Review the slope data

The generated maps are displayed in separate layers for each direction. The tables at the bottom of the screen show numerical slope values for north-south and east-west orientations.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Slope analysis is particularly valuable for optimizing rack placement plans.
  • High north-facing slopes can cause shading issues; factor these areas into your design.
  • Display all directional slope maps simultaneously to get a complete overview of the terrain profile.
