Layout Using Capacity Iteration

Overview

The Capacity Iteration feature in PVX.AI automatically compares different configurations to find the layout plan closest to your target installed capacity. You can iterate by pitch distance, GCR, or shading angles.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create an initial layout

Start by generating a baseline layout. Note your current total installed capacity.

2. Open the Capacity Iteration tool

Select your racks and parcel boundary.

3. Enter iteration parameters

Set the pitch distance range (e.g., 3 m to 6 m in 0.5 m increments) and tilt angles to compare (e.g., 20 and 25 degrees). Enter a capacity target (e.g., 75 MW).

4. Run the iteration

Click Iterate. PVX.AI will generate all possible scenarios.

5. Select the best scenario

From the results, choose the combination closest to your target capacity and click Generate Selected Layout to apply it. Enable 3D surface if you want the layout on terrain.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Capacity Iteration works with both fixed and tracker systems.
  • Compare different tilt angles to balance energy yield and land use efficiency.
  • Pin iteration results to compare multiple scenarios side by side.
