Running a Design Health Check

Overview

Health Check is a read-only scan of the whole drawing that answers whether a design is fit to ship. It runs a rule set across the design’s areas and produces a score from 0 to 100 with a grade, without changing anything in the drawing.

Prerequisites

A design far enough along to review. Health Check reads the drawing and never edits it, so it is safe to run at any stage.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Run the scan

Open Health Check on the Design Review panel and click Rescan. The status line reports when the last scan ran, how long it took, how many rules were checked, and the grade.

2. Work through the findings

Findings are grouped by the ribbon area they belong to, such as terrain, layout and electrical. Each finding has a Zoom action that jumps to the offending object. An area with no findings reads all checks passed.

3. Rescan after edits

Fix what you can, then click Rescan again. The window tells you when the findings are stale.

4. Export the report

Export the results as an HTML report, which offers to open on completion, or as a findings CSV. Both work as a design-review deliverable for handoff or QA.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Run it before sending a drawing to a client and before a Site Assessment request.
  • Use it as the final gate after collision analysis and the compliance checks.
