Collision Analysis

Overview

Collision Analysis is a buildability check for a whole layout. It scans every rack in a PV area against the terrain it stands on and turns the findings into fixes.

Prerequisites

A PV Area with placed racks on loaded terrain.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Run the scan

On the Layout panel open Collision Analysis, click Select PV area, then Run analysis. The scan measures pile reveals against the reveal band, ground clearance along the structure’s underside, and slope limits, judging each rack against its own spec.

2. Read the results

The inspector grid ranks findings by how far past a limit they are. Select a row to zoom to that rack, or double-click to jump into the drawing. A persistent overlay badges violating racks and carries a dated legend.

3. Fix, in escalating order

  • Apply selected shifts: a one-click rigid lift for shift-fixable racks, with no ground moved.
  • Fix collisions, then Run design: lifts each rack where that reaches the band and the clearance floor, and regrades the rows that still miss into one continuous buildable surface.
  • Adapt terrain to piles: hands selected racks to targeted terrain adaptation, holding the rest of the area as constraints.

4. Export the deliverables

Export a pile schedule (one CSV row per pile, with its verdict) and a run report covering limits and outcomes.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Multi-row tracker groups are judged and fixed as one unit.
  • The overlay dismisses itself on any geometry-changing command, so verdicts are never stale.
