Overview
On a tracker site, a row is often made of several tables placed end to end. Each table settles on its own piece of ground, so where two tables meet their ends can stand at different heights. That step at the joint looks wrong on site and can complicate installation. Row Adjustment measures every joint and re-seats the tables so their ends meet, while keeping every pile inside a reveal band you set. It does not move any ground.
Row Adjustment is a tab inside the Collision Analysis panel. It appears only on drawings with placed tracker racks (rigid or terrain-following), because those are the tables it acts on.
Prerequisites
Tracker tables placed on terrain, with rows made of two or more tables end to end.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the Row Adjustment tab
On the Layout panel, click Collision Analysis, select a PV area, and switch to the Row Adjustment tab. Levelling reads every placed tracker in the drawing, whichever area you picked.
2. Set the reveal band
Enter Min pile reveal and Max pile reveal. This band is separate from the limits on the findings tab: those drive the shift suggestions and aim at the middle of the band, while this one is only a boundary the levelling must stay inside. Typically you enter the shortest and longest pile reveal you can buy.
If you leave a box empty, that side is capped 0.5 m from where each table already stands. Fill both boxes if a table standing too high should be allowed to come all the way down.
3. Measure the joints
Click Measure joints. The list shows each joint with the two Racks that meet there, the height Step between them and what it Needs. The summary line gives the number of joints, how many are open, how many are beyond the band, and the worst and mean step in millimetres.
4. Level the rows
Click Level rows. PVX.AI moves the tables so the ends meet, repeating the pass until another pass no longer improves the worst joint. A joint that cannot be closed completely is brought as close as the band allows. The result line gives how many tables were levelled and the worst and mean joint step before and after. The After column shows each joint’s new step, and the status is Closed, Open or Needs grading. For an open joint, the panel names the constraint that holds it.
5. Deal with what is left
Joints marked Needs grading cannot be closed inside the band however the tables are seated. Fix them with grading, with Adapt Terrain to Pile (which levels tracker rows and grades the ground together), or by changing the layout. Then run the analysis on the findings tab again.
Tips & Recommendations
- A whole levelling run is one undo step: one Ctrl+Z reverses it.
- Pile length labels in the plan are refreshed at the end of the run.
- Use Generate Cross-Section along a row to see the joints before and after.
- On fixed-tilt or east-west only drawings the tab is hidden; use the findings tab and its fixes instead.
