Electrical Overview and the Cable Information Table

Overview

The Electrical Overview window shows the whole electrical hierarchy of a design as a tree, so you can inspect, locate and re-parent devices without hunting through the drawing.

Prerequisites

An electrical design with devices placed.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the overview

Go to Electrical Design then Information then Overview.

2. Read the tree

The tree lists transformers in light blue, inverters in green, DC combiner boxes in orange and strings in grey. Use Expand All, Collapse All and Refresh to navigate, and Export to take the hierarchy out of the drawing.

3. Act on a node

Right-click any node to Locate Object, Hide/Show Object, Change Parent Device or Delete.

4. Open the Cable Information Table

The same Information dropdown holds the Cable Information Table, a tabular view of the cabling for the design.

5. Set the coloring level

After device placement the drawing is color-coded. Choose whether to color by substation zone, by inverter or by DC combiner.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Use Locate Object to jump straight to a device instead of panning the drawing.
  • Click Refresh after editing the design so the tree matches the drawing.
