Creating Fixed Racks: Detailed Design

Overview

PVX.AI allows full customization of fixed rack designs. In Detailed Design mode, you can individually set pile distances, column counts, and axis spacing. This mode is ideal for non-standard structural requirements.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Switch to manual pile distance

Open Create Fixed and change Automatic Pile Distance to Manual.

2. Define rack dimensions

Enter the number of vertical and horizontal panels (e.g., 2×12). Set the number of columns and front/back foot groups.

3. Customize pile distances

Enter the distance between each column pair individually. For example, columns 2-3 can be 1,500 mm while columns 5-6 can be 2,450 mm. Set the vertical axis distance (e.g., 2,500 mm).

4. Set front and back margins

Use DistanceToFrontPile and DistanceToBackPile to define the distance between the panel edge and the columns. You can equalize front and back margins.

5. Adjust height and edge margins

Use HeightBottomPile for the panel height above ground and MarginLeftPile for the left-side column margin. Left and right margins can differ.

6. Save the design

Click Save to store the custom rack design in the database.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Use Detailed Design to match manufacturer mounting guides precisely.
  • Determine pile distances based on structural calculations; consider wind and snow loads.
  • Save different configurations as separate rack types for comparison.
