Overview
In PVX.AI you can create custom stringing connections across two different table types using the Line String or Leapfrog methods. This is useful when the standard stringing types do not meet a specific wiring requirement.
Prerequisites
The racks you want to connect must already be placed. Open the Electrical Design window from the Electrical sub-tab and go to the Stringing step.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the Custom Stringing Editor
In the Stringing step, choose Custom (shown as Custom Pattern before any preset exists). The Custom Stringing Editor opens, showing module indices and draggable string poles.
2. Select the tables
Choose the two tables that need to be connected.
3. Define the connection points (Line String)
Click the positive (+) connection point, then the negative (-) connection point. Right-click or press Enter to confirm.
4. Or build a leapfrog across the two tables
Select the starting panel’s plus and minus locations, then select the ending plus and minus locations on the second table.
Tips & Recommendations
- Custom stringing is particularly useful for connecting tables of different sizes.
- When selecting connection points, aim for the shortest cable route.
- Custom is also one of the stringing types in the Stringing Setup window, alongside Single Row, U-Stringing, and Leap Frog.
- Use Mirror Strings or Reverse Polarity afterwards if a run comes out the wrong way round.
