After grading calculations, PVX.AI automatically color-codes cut and fill areas to create an application map. This map is used in construction planning to identify areas that need excavation or backfilling.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Complete the grading process
Run the Smoothing or Grading operation. PVX.AI will automatically color-code the cut and fill areas.
2. Review the color codes
Green areas represent fill zones, and red areas represent cut zones. Each mesh cell includes calculated cut/fill volumes, old and new elevations, Z-codes, and cut/fill heights.
3. Inspect in 3D view
Switch to 3D perspective to review the map. Turning off the PVX triangle model reveals the excavation map clearly.

- Share the application map with your construction team to help plan fieldwork.
- Review cut and fill values in each triangle cell to validate earthwork projections.
- Print the map output for use as a field reference.
