Overview
PVX.AI stores terrain models before and after grading in separate layers, allowing you to visually compare them. This feature is valuable for evaluating the impact of earthwork operations.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Switch to 3D perspective
Use AutoCAD’s 3D Orbit command to switch to a different viewing angle. Both the original and graded surfaces will be visible.
2. Review layer management
PVX.AI manages layers automatically: PVX Terrain contains the graded surface; Original Terrain contains the original surface.
3. View the original surface
Turn off the PVX Terrain and Cut Fill Map layers. Only the original surface model will be visible.
4. View the graded surface
Turn off Original Terrain and turn on PVX Terrain. The new graded surface will be displayed.
5. Compare the results
Toggle layers on and off to evaluate differences between the two surfaces. This comparison helps verify the accuracy of your grading plan.
Tips & Recommendations
- Use 3D Orbit to rotate and view the terrain changes from different angles.
- Layer management lets you switch back to the original terrain at any time.
- Use this comparison in client presentations to visually demonstrate the grading impact.
