Overview
In the electrical design section of PVX.AI, you can define the positive (+) and negative (-) cable connections (strings) between panels. Four stringing methods are supported: U-string, Leapfrog, Custom, and Single Row.
Prerequisites
The layout plan must be complete with racks placed.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the Manual Design window
In the electrical design section, open the Manual Design window and go to the stringing tab.
2. Select the stringing method
Choose from four methods: U-string and Leapfrog for single-row small racks, Custom for special connections, Single Row for one-rack-one-string setups.
3. Set direction and electrical data
Set the cable output direction (right-to-left or left-to-right). Enter panel electrical data (voltage, current). Inverter details are also needed for string compatibility checks.
4. Create strings
Click Create Strings. PVX.AI will inform you of the valid string length range for your configuration. Select the racks to apply stringing and right-click or press Enter.
5. Edit if needed
Use Mirror Strings to reverse direction, De-String to remove, and recreate as needed.
Tips & Recommendations
- Optimize cable output direction based on transformer and inverter locations.
- Leapfrog method saves cable on long racks.
- Validate string compatibility against inverter input ranges.
- Different stringing methods can be applied to different rack groups.
