Overview
The Auto Design feature in PVX.AI accelerates concept design by automatically determining cable sizing, 3D positions, and transformer locations. This tool is ideal for quickly generating preliminary layouts during the feasibility stage.
Prerequisites
A defined PV area and panel data with electrical information in the database are required.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Launch the Auto Design tool
Select the rack types you will use. Ensure the panels have correct electrical data (voltage, current), as cable sizing and voltage drop calculations depend on this.
2. Select the PV area
The program will ask you to select a parcel boundary. Selecting a defined PV area gives more accurate results.
3. Configure transformer and inverter parameters
Customize the transformer power, inverter power, number of inverter inputs, horizontal and vertical panel spacing, and rack spacing.
4. Set DC Box and 3D options
Enable or disable DC Box based on your system configuration. If you want the design placed on a 3D surface, activate the corresponding option. PVX.AI will respect slope limits during placement.
5. Generate the design
After entering all parameters, generate the design. PVX.AI will automatically calculate the layout plan, cable routes, and electrical connections.
Tips & Recommendations
- Auto Design saves significant time during feasibility and concept design phases.
- Ensure the electrical data in your panel database is accurate; incorrect data leads to wrong cable calculations.
- Refine Auto Design output using the Manual Design tools for detailed engineering.
