Overview
The cabling stage in PVX.AI creates the cable routes connecting strings to DC Boxes, DC Boxes to inverters, and inverters to transformers. This is the third and final stage of electrical design.
Prerequisites
String definitions and DC Box/Inverter/Transformer placement must be complete.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Generate DC cables
In the topology tab, click Add DC Cables. Connections from each string’s positive and negative outputs to DC Boxes are created automatically along your alignment line.
2. Create DC Box to Inverter connections
Click Add DC Box to Inverter Cabling. Select the inverter and cable route (trench line). All DC Box cables will be routed automatically to the inverter input.
3. Generate AC cables
Select the transformer and inverter locations to create AC cable connections automatically.
4. Apply labeling
Each color code represents a DC Box group. Use automatic labeling to display transformer number, inverter number, DC Box number, and string number.
Tips & Recommendations
- Keep cable routes as short as possible to minimize losses.
- You can reuse the alignment line as the trench route.
- Always run cable loss analysis after completing the cabling.
