Overview
In PVX.AI, you can define exclusion areas to mark zones where panels should not be placed, such as buildings, trees, water bodies, or existing infrastructure. These areas are automatically left empty during layout generation.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Draw an exclusion area
Use Draw Exclusion Area to draw a polygon on screen marking the zone to exclude. Press Escape to close the polygon.
2. Convert an existing area
Alternatively, if you have an existing closed shape in AutoCAD, convert it to an exclusion area using the Convert to Exclusion Area button.
Tips & Recommendations
- Define exclusion areas around transformer stations, building foundations, and existing infrastructure.
- Make exclusion areas slightly larger than the actual obstacle to provide a safety margin.
- You can define multiple exclusion areas; they are all considered automatically during layout.
