Overview
PVX.AI supports importing point-type elevation data (Z-points) to generate 3D surface models. This method is ideal when working with discrete elevation measurements from various sources.
Prerequisites
AutoCAD point data with elevation information and a defined parcel boundary are required.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the import tool
Use the Read Contour Lines command on the PVX.AI ribbon, which also supports point-type data.
2. Select the parcel boundary
Click on your defined parcel boundary on screen.
3. Select the point layers
Choose the layers containing your Z-point data. You can select multiple layers (e.g., ground1, ground2) simultaneously.
4. Generate the surface model
After confirming the layer selection, PVX.AI will quickly generate a surface model from the selected elevation points.
Tips & Recommendations
- Verify that your Z-points contain correct elevation values before importing.
- Select all relevant source layers at once to create a unified surface model.
- Higher point density results in a more accurate surface model.
