Overview
The Heatmap in the PVX.AI web viewer generates a shadow intensity map showing how shadows fall across tables at different times and dates. Use it to evaluate inter row shading and to walk clients through the design in a browser.
Prerequisites
Publish the design to the web viewer first with Export > Design (Web). See Exporting Design to PVX.AI Web (Webview).
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the design in the web viewer
Use Copy URL and open the link in any browser, or use Open in PVX Browser to view it inside PVX.AI.
2. Open the Analyzer section
In the web viewer, open the Analyzer section.
3. Generate the heatmap
Choose Heatmap. The viewer maps shadow intensity across the tables so you can see which rows are shaded and how heavily.
4. Change the time and date
Adjust the sun angle and time to see how the shadow pattern moves through the day and across the year.
Tips & Recommendations
- Toggle the terrain surface on or off, and change surface and table colors, to make the heatmap easier to read.
- For shading analysis inside AutoCAD, use Shading Analysis on the Layout panel.
- For water flow and drainage channels on the terrain, run Hydrology Analysis on the Civil sub-tab. See Hydrology Analysis.
- The web viewer link opens on any platform with a browser, so it works well in review meetings.
