Adapting Objects to Terrain

Overview

Adapt Objects re-fits every rack inside a PV Area to the current terrain in one click. It is the natural step to run after grading, or after copying and pasting racks, so everything settles to the surface. This guide covers running it.

Prerequisites

Terrain must be loaded, and the PV Area must contain at least one rack.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Start the command

On the Layout panel, click Adapt Objects.

2. Pick the PV Area

At the Select a PV Area: prompt, pick a PV Area boundary.

3. Review the result

PVX.AI re-creates each rack inside that boundary in place, recomputing its elevation and tilt from the current terrain, and materializes any copied or pasted racks into real racks. The number of racks adapted is reported on the command line.

Tips & Recommendations

  • Fixed, tracker and East-West racks are all supported.
  • The whole pass runs as a single operation, so one Ctrl+Z reverts everything.
  • Run Adapt Objects after grading and before electrical design, so racks sit correctly on the final surface before you string and wire them.
