Overview
PVX.AI allows you to add satellite-based imagery and elevation models to your project using Google Earth data. This feature lets you create surface models for additional parcel boundaries and extend your map coverage.
Prerequisites
Previously imported Google Earth data in PVX.AI and a new parcel boundary drawing are required.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Draw a new parcel boundary
Using the AutoCAD coordinate system, draw a new parcel boundary for the area where you want to extend the map model.
2. Use the Image Elevation tool
Click Image Elevation. This tool imports satellite-based surface models into PVX.AI.
3. Select the boundary and load the data
Select your new parcel boundary. PVX.AI will read elevation data from the satellite source and generate a surface model for the selected area.
Tips & Recommendations
- This method is ideal for adding extra coverage to projects that already have Google Earth data imported.
- Satellite data resolution may not capture fine terrain details; prefer drone data for high-precision projects.
- The surface model created with Image Elevation can be merged with other data sources.
